A capturing that injured a police canine led authorities to shut the 5 Freeway in Burbank Saturday.

Burbank police advised CBS Los Angeles that authorities closed the freeway after a suspect they tried to apprehend shot a police canine round 8 p.m.

The Okay-9’s situation was unknown late Saturday evening however KTLA-5 reported that the canine was taken to a hospital.
