To the editor: Why would anybody wish to destroy the attractive stretch of the Pacific Coast Freeway that runs via Corona del Mar (“Corona del Mar research outlines proposals to enhance enterprise hall,” Nov. 11)? Being a resident of San Clemente for 25 years, I’ve seen the downtown space change radically. What was as soon as a wonderful, sleepy seaside city is now an overcrowded mess geared towards attracting enterprise from tourism. Residents’ wants have been excluded and are seemingly not a consideration.

Corona del Mar, please don’t fall into this lure they name progress. Keep stunning and keep targeted in your residents.

Hector Hernandez, San Clemente
