An autographed Michael Jordan rookie card bought for $2.5 million in an public sale that closed on Thursday.

The 1986-87 Fleer card bought via Joopiter — the public sale platform based by Grammy-winning artist and producer Pharrell Williams three years in the past — exhibits Jordan hovering towards the rim together with his proper arm prolonged and tongue dangling. It was one among 9 buying and selling playing cards signed in a blue sharpie at his personal golf course in Florida final yr.

In keeping with ESPN, the $2.5 million is probably the most paid for a Jordan rookie card — signed or unsigned — and the third-highest value in a public sale for any Jordan card. That file is $2.928 million.

In March, an autographed Bulls jersey that Jordan wore in a preseason sport throughout his rookie yr bought for $4.215 million at an public sale via Sotheby’s.
