President Trump appeared to concede Wednesday that he is not allowed to run for reelection in 2028 — after teasing the thought of working for a 3rd time period on and off for months.

“It is a very fascinating factor. I’ve the most effective numbers for any president in a few years,” the president instructed reporters aboard Air Drive One on his strategy to South Korea. “And I’d say that, in case you learn it, it is fairly clear I am not allowed to run. It is too dangerous.”

The twenty second Modification to the U.S. Structure, ratified in 1951, explicitly bars anybody from being elected to greater than two phrases as president.

The concept is constitutionally untested and specialists are divided on whether or not it could work.

Mr. Trump appeared to rule out that concept on Monday.

“Too cute,” he stated. “Do not suppose folks would really like it.”
