An worker allegedly stole 47 automobiles from an Avis Funds website at an upstate New York airport and rented them out across the area, police stated Friday.

The automotive rental firm reported to authorities that the automobiles, value greater than $1 million, have been stolen from its location at Syracuse Hancock Worldwide Airport between June and August.

An investigation by airport police discovered {that a} 31-year-old Avis Funds worker led the theft scheme, which concerned renting out the purloined automobiles at different places round Onondaga County, authorities stated.
