To the editor: It has turn into fairly apparent that Donald Trump sought the presidency to remain out of jail and enrich himself. The newest outrageous act is his intent to sue the federal authorities for prior Justice Division investigations of his misdeeds (“Trump reportedly seeks $230 million in damages for prior federal investigations,” Oct. 21).

After all, a few of the high DOJ attorneys tasked with settling the claims defended Trump previously. Honesty and integrity appear to have no place on this administration. I’d use a stronger phrase to explain my emotions, however “disgusted” must do.

Linda Lennon, Los Angeles

..

To the editor: Let me see if I’ve this proper. President Trump is including a $250-million ballroom to the White Home, however taxpayers needn’t fear, as he’s utilizing non-public donations and his personal funds to pay for it.

Now, the president apparently needs to make use of his personal federal authorities checking account to hunt $230 million as damages from previous FBI investigations. Nevertheless, he claims that he would both donate the cash or use it to assist pay for the ballroom.

What occurred to his pledge of ending “waste, fraud and abuse” by the federal authorities? Oh, I do know: Possibly Trump can ask Argentina for a refund of the $20 billion that his administration gave its authorities?

J.P. Garcia, Yorba Linda

..

To the editor: From the U.S. Structure, Article II: “The President shall, at acknowledged Instances, obtain for his Companies, a Compensation, which shall neither be encreased nor diminished in the course of the Interval for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not obtain inside that Interval every other Emolument from the US, or any of them.”

It clearly states that apart from his wage, Trump ought to not be paid anything by the U.S. authorities whereas in workplace. That could be a flat prohibition on any extra funds, regardless of the scenario.

Any absurd compensation for his authorized protection, he ought to wait to ask for after his presidency. Cash accepted throughout his time period is a violation of the Structure and a foundation for impeachment.
