Airbus opens second jet meeting line in China

BEIJING/PARIS (Reuters) -Airbus stated on Wednesday it had opened a second meeting line in China, rising manufacturing capability for its best-selling A320neo household of single-aisle jets.

The European planemaker’s tenth last meeting line globally, positioned within the port metropolis of Tianjin close to Beijing, is ready to be totally operational in early 2026.

Its inauguration comes simply over per week after Airbus opened a second last meeting line in Cell, Alabama.

Forward of the Tianjin opening, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury met with Chinese language Commerce Minister Wang Wentao on Tuesday, the ministry stated in an announcement.

In the course of the assembly, Wang harassed that rising financial fragmentation and unilateral, protectionist strikes had been unsettling international commerce and including instability and uncertainty, the ministry stated on Wednesday.

Airbus dedicated to increasing its presence in China and contributing to China-France and China-Europe commerce ties, the ministry added.

Airbus didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.

Trade sources stated this month that the back-to-back ceremonies in Cell and Tianjin had been being designed to keep away from falling foul of a tough commerce local weather between China and the US.

Since Airbus first introduced the abroad enlargement plans in 2022 and 2023, Washington and Beijing have plunged right into a months-long commerce warfare, leaving Airbus and another European corporations anxious to keep away from offending both commerce energy.
