On Wednesday, President Trump confirmed off plans for a significant new monument to be probably added to Washington, D.C.: a grand, classically styled arch topped with eagles and a gilded, winged statue that implies Victory.

A watercolor rendition of the proposed arch posted on-line final month by architect Nicolas Leo Charbonneau of Harrison Design, and reposted by the president on his Reality Social account, reveals a monument that bears sturdy aesthetic similarities to Paris’ Arc de Triomphe and the Troopers and Sailors’ Memorial Arch in Brooklyn.
