Maria Corina Machado informed CBS Information on Friday that being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize serves as a message to her fellow Venezuelans that “we’re not alone.”

Machado is the chief of the pro-democracy motion in Venezuela, which is underneath a dictatorship so brutal she has been pressured to reside in hiding.
