Defenseman Jake Walman signed a seven-year, $49 million extension with the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
Walman, 29, joined the Oilers on the commerce deadline final season from the San Jose Sharks following earlier stints with the Detroit Pink Wings and St. Louis Blues.
Walman completed with a career-high 40 factors (seven targets, 33 assists) in 65 video games in 2024-25, together with one aim and 7 assists in 15 video games with the Oilers. He added 10 factors (two targets, eight assists) in 22 playoff video games.
A 3rd-round draft choose by St. Louis in 2014, Walman has recorded 91 factors (32 targets, 59 assists) and 149 penalty minutes in 267 video games with 4 groups.
Additionally Monday, the Oilers signed captain Connor McDavid to a two-year, $25 million extension.
The 2-time defending Western Convention champion Oilers open the 2025-26 common season at house Wednesday night time towards the Calgary Flames.
