Bobby Hart, one half of the powerhouse songwriting duo Boyce and Hart who helped catapult the Monkees to popular culture domination within the ‘60s, has died.

Hart handed away at his Los Angeles house, his good friend and co-author Glenn Ballantyne confirmed Sunday, including the music legend had been in declining well being since breaking his hip final yr.

Alongside songwriting associate Tommy Boyce, Hart crafted among the Monkees’ most enduring hits, together with their theme music with the immediately recognizable line, “Right here we come, walkin’ down the road” in addition to the chart-topping “Final Prepare to Clarksville” and the rock staple “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone.”

Boyce and Hart weren’t simply behind the scenes … they scored their very own hits like “I Surprise What She’s Doing Tonight,” and appeared on sitcoms like “I Dream of Jeannie” and “Bewitched.”
