To the editor: As I take a deep breath and scan the Los Angeles Instances for the travesties and sadnesses of every day, I’m pleasantly stunned to learn an uplifting, constructive article in regards to the Volunteers Cleansing Communities (“They name themselves ‘trashers.’ Collectively, they’re cleansing L.A.’s streets — and discovering friendship,” Sept. 2). All day, I felt higher, having been reminded that there are hundreds of thousands of individuals in our nation doing constructive work each day to make the world a greater place and to attach people.

That is the work of society, to help all of our lives and communities to thrive and promote that “pursuit of happiness” factor. A small group doing one thing for his or her group. Wouldn’t or not it’s nice to spotlight a gaggle like this every day or three days every week? The Instances can be including to the sensation of goodwill amongst us. This sense promotes actions of consideration for folks and our world.

To the editor: I beloved this piece as a result of it speaks on to my ardour. I all the time joke that the one volunteer job I’m going to do once I retire is selecting up trash — I didn’t notice there are complete teams of people who find themselves already doing that and having enjoyable and making mates.

However I do have a query for anyone studying this letter: L.A. has such a littering drawback and such comparatively little authorities cash spent on it. Why don’t extra folks take private duty for not contributing to the issue? That’s an article I’d wish to learn. The mindset of people that litter completely boggles me.
