Trump revokes Secret Service safety for former Vice President Kamala Harris

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has revoked U.S. Secret Service safety for former Vice President Kamala Harris, a senior adviser to Harris advised NBC Information on Friday.

“The Vice President is grateful to america Secret Service for his or her professionalism, dedication, and unwavering dedication to security,” the adviser stated.

A senior White Home official confirmed Friday that Trump revoked Harris’ Secret Service element, including that vice presidents sometimes solely get six months of safety once they go away workplace.

Congress handed laws in 2008 that approved the Secret Service to guard former vice presidents, their spouses and their kids underneath 16 years outdated for as much as six months after the vp’s time period has ended.

A Secret Service official advised NBC that whereas that is true, President Joe Biden had signed an government memorandum in January extending Harris’ safety to 18 months.
