To the editor: In mild of the information that L.A. County Supervisor Hilda Solis intends to run for Congress ought to California create a brand new district, it is very important spotlight a critical concern (“L.A. could land a brand new congressional seat. Is it already reserved?,” Aug. 21).

Solis has a distinguished profession of public service on the native, state and federal ranges, and I love her many achievements. On the identical time, she now has her identify on a variety of taxpayer-funded amenities throughout L.A. County: two colleges in East L.A., a park in Baldwin Park, the brand new Hilda L. Solis Aquatic Heart in West Puente Valley and even the Hilda L. Solis Care First Village for individuals experiencing homelessness.

The faculties, park, pool and housing growth are neighborhood assets meant to serve residents, to not promote the political model of anybody official. If Solis is contemplating one other run for workplace, it could be time for her to take away her identify from these amenities and take away the incumbency benefit that echoes the Donald Trump fashion of branding every part along with his identify.
