The New Orleans Saints traded for extensive receiver Devaughn Vele on Tuesday, sending two draft picks to the Denver Broncos to finish the alternate.
The Broncos get the Saints’ 2026 fourth-round choose and 2027 seventh-round choose for Vele, who was chosen within the seventh spherical of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Utah. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound wideout completed third on the Broncos in catches (41) and receiving yards (475) and tied for third in landing catches (three) as a rookie.
Vele performed within the Broncos’ first preseason sport on Aug. 9 and caught one go for six yards. He joins a Saints receivers room that options veterans Chris Olave, Brandin Cooks and Rashid Shaheed.
The Broncos’ group of receivers was upgraded this offseason, together with the addition of third-round draft choose Patrick Bryant, who has caught six passes for 91 yards in Denver’s first two exhibition video games.
