To the editor: In an announcement on the Aug. 4 warehouse occasion capturing, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass mentioned: “This mindless violence and lack of life is devastating and those that are accountable have to be held accountable. There will probably be no tolerance for violence on this metropolis. My ideas are with the victims and their households. We are going to proceed to work collectively to maintain L.A. protected” (“2 useless, 6 wounded in ‘mindless’ mass capturing at warehouse occasion in downtown L.A.,” Aug. 4).

No slam towards Bass supposed, however I’m pretty positive her quote may have been copied, nearly verbatim, from any variety of involved native politicians 10, 20, 30 and even 50 years in the past right here in Los Angeles.

Progress on gun management? We have now met the enemy and he’s us.
