To the editor: Workers author Terry Castleman asserts that “Californians could possibly be answerable for a good portion of the decline in Vegas tourism” (“Las Vegas is down on its luck as tourism drops. Why it’s form of California’s fault,” Aug. 4). Though this can be true, the article doesn’t go into different components as to why tourism in Las Vegas has considerably declined.

Earlier than tourism in Vegas decreased, its bills had been already excessive, from quick meals combo meals costing not less than $30 to cocktails pricing at $25, to not point out the standard worth of a lodge room being greater than $160 per night time. With Californians coping with our personal financial struggles, Vegas is simply approach too costly to trip to, which may be a serious cause for Vegas tourism declining.

To the editor: Castleman’s article on tourism being down in Las Vegas ought to be a wake-up name to and a possibility for California. We all know that the world shouldn’t be enamored with President Trump.

However we nonetheless want tourism, so let’s set ourselves aside from Trump’s America. All vacationers to California ought to get an across-the-board 10% discount on lodge rooms, meals, ride-share providers and tickets to museums and theme parks. Let’s put the welcome mat out to the world.
