Catholic Church says Israeli strike hits church in Gaza, killing at the very least 3 individuals and wounding its priest

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, which oversees the Catholic Church of the Holy Household in Gaza Metropolis, stated Thursday that three individuals had been killed and several other others injured in an Israeli strike on the church. The Parish Priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli was evenly wounded within the strike, the patriarchate confirmed.

“This morning, at roughly 10:20 a.m., the Comp(o)und of the Holy Household in Gaza, belonging to the Latin Patriarchate, was struck by the Israeli military. Earlier on Thursday, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated “Israeli raids on Gaza” had hit the Church of the Holy Household, condemning “the assaults towards the civilian inhabitants that Israel has been finishing up for months” as unacceptable. 

“No navy motion can justify such conduct,” the Italian chief stated on social media.

The Israel Protection Forces stated it was “conscious of reviews concerning harm triggered to the Holy Household Church in Gaza Metropolis and casualties on the scene. The circumstances of the incident are underneath evaluation.”

“The IDF makes each possible effort to mitigate hurt to civilians and civilian constructions, together with spiritual websites, and regrets any harm triggered to them,” the navy stated within the assertion, which it shared on social media.
