State Division to start mass layoffs of about 1,800 workers in coming days

The plans to Congress didn’t state what number of of those staff can be from the civil service and what number of from the international service, but it surely did say that greater than 300 of the division’s 734 bureaus and places of work can be streamlined, merged or eradicated.
