A two-year-old girl climbed aboard a parked public bus and took an unplanned ride through town before the driver discovered her presence.
The Unexpected Boarding
Security footage above the driver’s seat shows the toddler, dressed in a pink outfit, entering the empty vehicle. She had wandered away from her family during nearby shopping and made her way to the back of the bus moments before the driver returned.
Ramazan Cimen, the driver who had briefly stepped off to purchase bread after arriving from the coastal town of Eregli, resumed his route through Alapli, Turkey, on May 7, unaware of his young passenger.
Discovery and Swift Response
Soon after, Cimen heard crying from the rear of the bus. He stopped the vehicle, went back to comfort the child, and brought her to the front seat beside him. He immediately contacted bus company officials, who alerted police via the 155 emergency line.
Officers were already searching for the girl following a missing child reports her family. Authorities reunited her with her relatives shortly afterward.
Driver’s Relief and Advice
Cimen expressed relief that the toddler cried out when she did. “If she had not cried, she would have stayed on the bus until morning,” he stated. “Everyone should take care of their children. I only did my civic duty.”
Local reports drew comparisons to the 1994 comedy film Baby’s Day Out, where an infant embarks on a solo adventure through Chicago.
