BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung drew major attention online after an unexpected moment during the group’s Mexico concert reportedly boosted sales at a food stall inside the venue. During day 1 of ARIRANG World Tour in Mexico City on May 7, BTS entered the stadium floor while performing Idol, following the group’s ongoing concert tradition.

As dancers carrying themed flags and props following the members passed the food stalls located along the entry pathway of the gallery, Taehyung briefly stepped toward one of the stalls. Videos shared by concertgoers showed the singer then picking up a corn dog from the stall before rejoining the members and continuing the performance while eating it.

The moment quickly spread across social media platforms, with fans reacting to the idol’s spontaneous behavior during the show. Following the viral clips, several fan X accounts and local attendees claimed that the featured food stall began attracting long queues from concertgoers wanting to try the same items purchased by the BTS member.

According to online discussions and local media reports, the stall selling banderillas aka corn dogs reportedly saw a sharp rise in customer traffic after the clips circulated online. Some Mexican media outlets described the trend as the “V effect,” referring to Taehyung’s influence on fans and consumer interest.

As reports about the increase in sales at the concert food stall spread online, fans pointed to the viral corn dog moment as another example of his impact. Some users saying even his smallest actions created immediate and major attention to the business. One fan commented,

“V is truly a trendsetter..not only the brands he represents but also everything he touches turns to gold! No one is touching Kim Taehyung’s impact!!”

Fans gushed over V’s influence online with some users mentioning his ability to draw attention even through small actions was one of the reasons brands actively pursue collaborations with him.

The power of Kim Taehyung

This is how self dominant and impact speak louder than words and V kindness and self respect always at top, this is really wow 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎✌️🐯👑🍀✌️https://t.co/lLjF8LcVVl

This is why the brands he endorses now, had to wait months even years & as they said they had to shed blood, sweat, & tears (figuratively ofc) to seal the deal with him. Coz look, just one moment & boom-instant recognition! He creates impact even to the littlest things he does.

Some users also pointed out that despite earlier complaints about the snack’s price, large crowds still gathered at the stand following Taehyung’s interaction with it and the stall became one of the most talked-about spots at the concert.

BTS wrap up sold-out Mexico leg of ARIRANG world tour as massive crowds gather inside and outside stadiums

After the V took the banderilla, reports claimed that a representative from his side returned to the stall to pay for it the next day. However, according to online accounts, both the stall staff and fans near the stall reportedly declined to accept the payment.

The interactions continued throughout the three-night run, as Taehyung was again spotted taking Cotton candy from a nearby stall during the May 9 show before reportedly handing it to a fan in the crowd. During the final concert on May 10, he was also seen briefly toasting a drink with a fan while moving through the audience during the Idol parade segment.

Meanwhile, BTS officially concluded the Mexico leg of their ARIRANG World Tour with three performances held on May 7, 9 and 10, 2026, at Estadio GNP Seguros. According to local reports, all three concerts sold out, with total attendance across the shows estimated to surpass 136,000 people.

Mexican media outlets also reported that tens of thousands of fans gathered outside the stadium during each concert despite not having tickets, listening to the concert from surrounding areas. For the Mexico leg, BTS presented a setlist combining tracks from their latest album ARIRANG with several of the group’s earlier hits.

The concerts also featured the group’s rotating surprise stage segment, where additional songs from their past discography were played randomly. During the May 7 show, BTS performed Boy in Luv and So What during this segment. The May 9 concert included We Are Bulletproof Pt.2 and Just One Day, while the final Mexico performance on May 10 featured Airplane Pt.2 and Spring Day.

During the ment sections, the members spoke about returning to Mexico for future concerts. They shared that they had felt nervous before taking the stage but said the audience’s energy helped them relax throughout the performances.

On the final day of the concert series, BTS members thanking fans for their continued support, acknowledged the large crowds gathered both inside and outside the stadium. They also mentioned the possibility of performing at a larger venue during a future visit to the country.

Ahead of the concerts, BTS had already attracted major public attention during their May 6 appearance at National Palace. Following a meeting with Claudia Sheinbaum, the group briefly appeared on the balcony overlooking the Zócalo, where approximately 50,000 of fans had gathered to see them.

After wrapping up the Mexico leg, BTS is scheduled to continue the North American section of the ARIRANG world tour with upcoming performances at Stanford Stadium on May 16, 17 and 19. The tour will later continue across additional cities in North America, Canada, South America, Asia, Australia, Europe and more.
