New York Knicks supporters flooded Philadelphia, turning the 76ers’ home arena into a sea of blue and orange during a dominant NBA playoff sweep. The Knicks sealed a 4-0 series victory in the Eastern Conference semifinals with a resounding 144-114 win in Game 4, dubbed the ‘Mother’s Day Massacre’ by fans.

Dominating the Arena

Thousands of Knicks fans packed the 19,746-seat Xfinity Mobile Arena on Sunday night, overwhelming local supporters despite pleas from 76ers star Joel Embiid to avoid selling tickets to New York backers. Celebrities like Spike Lee and Timothee Chalamet joined the invasion for Friday’s game, helping shift the crowd’s energy firmly toward the visitors.

Knicks enthusiasts bypassed ticket barriers with ease, mirroring their team’s hot shooting from beyond the arc. Many waved printed photos of Embiid being dunked on by Knicks forward Mitch Robinson from Game 3, taunting the injury-prone center with chants of ‘Mr. Glass!’ as he stepped to the free-throw line.

Post-Game Chaos

After the final buzzer, jubilant Knicks fans mobbed ABC reporter Cheyenne Corin during a live broadcast outside the arena. ‘You would think I’m in New York right now instead of Philadelphia,’ Corin said amid cheers and signs proclaiming ‘Welcome to MSG East.’

Supporters celebrated the sweep by waving brooms, symbolizing their clean series victory.

Reactions from Players and Fans

In the locker room, Knicks wing Josh Hart mocked the Philly crowd. ‘Everybody was begging for Philly to not sell their tickets,’ Hart said. ‘I used to think Philly was a sports town. I don’t know if it is anymore.’

Disappointed 76ers fans voiced their frustration. One admitted, ‘I ain’t going to lie, this is a Mother’s Day massacre. I left my mom [for this]… I have to make it up to momma.’ Another demanded the firing of head coach Nick Nurse, while a teary supporter described the playoff exit as ‘heartbreaking.’
