Right after the NTE AI Controversy, the developers, Hotta Studio, have promised to change all assets. Recently, they have implemented a patch and have already replaced several pictures and videos according to the feedback. Since there were many changes, players outside the loop might wonder what the developers have changed.
That said, this article takes a look at all assets removed by Hotta Studio after the Neverness to Everness AI Controversy.
Everything replaced after the NTE AI Controversy, explored
Soon after Neverness to Everness’ release, many players claimed that the developers had used AI to generate art and videos. Later, Hotta Studio confirmed the use of AI in the game and publicly announced to replace all the assets, especially the ones from “Clear Skies in Summer” and “Pink Paws Heist.” They said:
“We’re already reviewing and reworking the flagged assets: Clear Skies in Summer and Pink Paws Heist.”
With the recent patch rolling out, the developers have replaced all the art and videos. Due to how fast the change was implemented, the new assets are likely placeholders and are expected to be changed in the future with something of better quality.
These changes include the Clear Skies in Summer poster and video/trailer. Now, when you come across anything related to it in Hethereau, you’ll see an ad for Soda Water. As for the videos, they have been replaced by Heart Hunter Iron Cavalry 2 and 3. Besides that, the videos that play when you go to watch a movie have also been replaced. Now, the abovementioned videos will be played repeatedly when you go to watch a movie with a companion. Since there is a daily limit, you can only go see it once.
As of now, only these changes have caught players’ attention. Furthermore, the developers are expected to replace these with original assets, pleasing all the Hethereau fans.
