Hugh Jackman relisted a luxurious New York apartment shared with ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness just weeks before his Met Gala debut alongside new girlfriend Sutton Foster. The move signals the final steps in dividing assets following their divorce finalized in June 2025.
West Village Property Details
Property records confirm Jackman, 57, and Furness, 70, still co-own the five-bedroom, six-bathroom apartment in Manhattan’s upscale West Village. Purchased in 2008 for US$21.1 million (AUD$29.1 million), the residence spans 1,021 square meters across the 8th, 9th, and 10th floors of a 15-story high-rise.
Key features include stunning Hudson River and Manhattan skyline views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The 10th floor boasts a main bedroom suite with a studio, spa bath, sauna, and dressing rooms. Lower levels offer living areas, a library, guest bedroom, recreation room, and professional gourmet kitchen. Building amenities feature a fitness center, full-time doorman, and concierge service.
Originally listed in 2022 at AUD$57.5 million (US$38.9 million), the price dropped to AUD$41.5 million (US$28.75 million) when relisted on March 31, one month before the Met Gala.
The couple later relocated to a smaller property in nearby Chelsea.
Divorce Settlement Progress
The apartment sale forms part of the divorce agreement. Furness acquired Jackman’s interest in their other Manhattan penthouse, valued at AUD$35 million (US$24 million). Bought together in 2022 for AUD$31.6 million (US$21.12 million), the three-bedroom property transferred without a public listing.
Married since 1996, Jackman and Furness announced their separation in 2023 after 27 years together.
Met Gala Red Carpet Debut
Jackman and Foster, who confirmed their relationship in January 2025, appeared affectionate at the event. Jackman stood tall in a black tuxedo with a velvet jacket and polished dress shoes, sporting a clean-shaven face and gelled-back brunette hair.
Foster radiated elegance in a glittering gold one-shoulder gown paired with a jeweled clutch. The pair exchanged loving glances on the red carpet.
Jackman previously attended Met Galas with Furness, including their last joint appearance in 2023. He went solo in 2024 and skipped the 2025 event amid the split.
Public Reaction and Criticism
The couple’s debut drew mixed responses online. Some fans labeled it ‘disrespectful’ and ‘classless.’ One user wrote, ‘Thumbs down! It’s forever team Debbie over here!!’ Another commented, ‘Poor Deborra,’ while a third stated, ‘Not a fan.’ Additional reactions included, ‘I lost big respect for him’ and ‘Yes, pathetic.’
