The Real Housewives of Miami holds a unique — and unfortunate — distinction in the Bravoverse as the only Real Housewives franchise to officially be put on pause twice.

Production on RHOM was originally scrapped after three seasons in 2013, only for Peacock to resurrect the show in 2021. The revamped Miami aired for four seasons on Peacock — and later Bravo — before it was once again shelved in March 2026.

However, the ladies of Miami are not the first to land in limbo in the Bravoverse, as Andy Cohen and his team have previously put The Real Housewives of New York City, The Real Housewives of New Jersey and The Real Housewives of Atlanta on pause temporarily to retool the shows.

“I always think there’s a benefit in waiting,” Cohen explained on Radio Andy in March 2026. “If there’s no rush to get it on the air, I always think there’s a benefit in waiting, and then when it comes back, everyone’s like, ‘Oh my god! How great it’s finally back!’”

Not all Real Housewives give up their diamonds — or peaches/apples — for good. Bethenny Frankel, NeNe Leakes and Dina Manzo are among the ladies who left their respective franchises only to return years later. While Bethenny, NeNe and Dina all returned in a full-time role, other women, including Camille Grammer and Danielle Staub, made […]

Years before The Real Housewives of Potomac debuted, Bravo had a short-lived D.C. franchise featuring a cast of beltway insiders, including Mary Amons, Lynda Erkiletian, Cat Ommanney, Michaele Salahi and Stacie Scott Turner.

The Real Housewives of D.C. only last 11 episodes, with Andy Cohen later blaming the franchise’s early demise on Michaele and her then-husband Tareq Salahi. The couple caused a major diplomatic dispute by attending a November 2009 White House dinner in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh without invitations. (Their ability to bypass security checkpoints at the White House sparked a major review of security protocol.)

Cohen officially announced that Bravo was cancelling RHODC in April 2011.

“We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise,” he said at the time. “I wish all our DC Wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity.”

Bravo has spent most of RHOM’s lifespan tinkering with its cast. The franchise was completely retooled for its second season, with OGs Larsa Pippen and Cristy Rice dropped in favor of Lisa Hochstein and Joanna Krupa.

By 2013, poor ratings continued to hamper The Real Housewives of Miami and it was officially put on the shelf after three seasons. Fans never gave up on campaigning for an epic comeback, leading to Peacock reviving RHOM eight years after being put on pause.

The revived RHOM featured a blend of classic cast members — Hochstein, Alexia Nepola and Pippen — joined by newcomers Guerdy Abraira, Julia Lemigova and Nicole Martin, with Kiki Barth, Adriana de Moura and Marysol Patton as “friends of the housewives.”

Peacock aired seasons four and five of The Real Housewives of Miami before it jumped to Bravo for its final two seasons. Amid struggling ratings, Us Weekly reported in March 2026 that Bravo was once again putting Miami on pause.

RHONY is one of the most iconic Real Housewives franchises but it has struggled amid numerous cast shakeups in recent years. The cast dynamics got so toxic during season 13 that Bravo cancelled plans for a reunion. (RHONY cast member Eboni K. Williams filed a complaint with Bravo in 2021 about costar Ramona Singer allegedly making an insensitive remark, sparking an internal investigation at the network.)

“Due to scheduling challenges around taping the reunion of The Real Housewives of New York City in a timely manner, Bravo confirmed there will not be a reunion for this season,” a network spokesperson confirmed in September 2021. “It’s disappointing to not be able to bring the cast back together, but we are happy to have ended on such a high note with the finale, and are now shifting our focus to next season.”

Bravo ultimately cut ties with the entire cast of RHONY after season 13 and kept the show off the air for nearly two full years as it rebooted the series. A brand new RHONY — featuring newcomers Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield — arrived with season 14 in July 2023.

This new version of RHONY only lasted two seasons before a massive falling out between Hassan and Whitfield left the show at a crossroads once again. Whitfield confirmed her RHONY exit in June 2025, with Lyons following in November 2025 after turning down a “friend” role for season 16.

In March 2026, Bravo confirmed that RHONY season 16 will feature a combination of returning stars — De Silva, Lichy and Taank — plus newbies Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond and Daisy Toye as full-time Housewives. Carole Radziwill will return as a “friend of the Housewives” to provide a link between eras of RHONY.

Singer, Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, Kelly Bensimon and Dorinda Medley from the classic RHONY era jumped to E! in 2026 for a reunion series called The Golden Life, which will be filmed in Florida. (Jill Zarin was part of the original Golden Life cast but was dropped from the show amid controversy over her criticism of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show in February 2026.)

Like RHONY, The Real Housewives of Atlanta is one of the most beloved franchises in the history of the Bravoverse. However, production on RHOA hit a snag in 2023 following a mass cast exodus that saw Kandi Burruss, Marlo Hampton, Sanya Richards-Ross and Shereé Whitfield all exiting.

Bravo rebuilt RHOA largely from the ground up, adding newcomers Brit Eady, Kelli Ferrell and Angela Oakley alongside returning cast members Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams, Shamea Morton and Drew Sidora. However, Moore exited RHOA early into production on season 16 over allegations that she leaked explicit photos of Eady. (Moore later said in a vlog, “I am very sorry that I shared the photos because it wasn’t right. I did not break the law, and I’m very sorry for what I did.”)

Following the unexpected exit of one of RHOA’s most iconic stars, Bravo brought back Phaedra Parks after an eight-year absence. Cynthia Bailey also returned as a “friend” for season 16.

By the time RHOA season 16 actually premiered in March 2025, it had been off the air for nearly two years.

‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Was Paused in 2024

The feud between Teresa Giudice and her brother, Joe Gorga, and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga was at the heart of RHONJ for more than a decade. However, the animosity got so heated that neither side was willing to engage with the other during season 14 in 2024.

Bravo took the unusual step of skipping a traditional season 14 reunion in favor of a special episode called “Off the Rails,” where Teresa and her allies watched recent highlights in a separate room from Melissa and her friends.

At the time, Andy Cohen hinted that it was possible that “Off the Rails” might be the final episode of RHONJ in its current form.

“I think you’re gonna really like the finale… I mean the reunion that’s not a reunion,” Cohen explained on Radio Andy in August 2024. “It’s kind of a soft landing for the show, let me say that. Did kind of feel like a series [finale], didn’t it?

Bravo paused RHONJ following the airing of the non-reunion episode — and it has still not returned, as of March 2026. However, Teresa and the Gorgas stunned RHONJ fans at BravoCon in late 2025 by announcing that they’d reconciled.

“I saw my husband’s relief, and for me, that’s the most important thing. It’s the siblings, and it’s the kids, and this trickles down,” Melissa said in November 2025. “To see the relief in Joe’s eyes and in his face, to me, I’m like, ‘I’m game. Let’s go. Let’s do this.’”

That same month, Cohen confirmed to Us Weekly at BravoCon that cameras would resume filming RHONJ “when it’s right.”

“That’s one of the reasons we didn’t pick cameras up,” Cohen said of Teresa and Melissa’s reunion. “They have to do this for themselves. It should have nothing to do with us.”

During the lengthy break in film, RHONJ star Dolores Catania shot a Bravoverse crossover on the debut season of new franchise, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.

Us reported in January 2026 that the future of RHONJ remained in limbo because producers were struggling to lock down a season 15 cast. Bravo brought in a new third-party team to help find the right cast.

“Previous producers have been having a hard time finding the right cast and fit,” an insider explained to Us. “They didn’t like the newcomers who were test filming last year in August.”

The source added, “They are going full speed ahead with casting over the next month and a half. The current cast could have answers if they’re coming back to the show in the next couple of months.”
