Arsenal demonstrates resourcefulness this season amid injuries while competing in four tournaments. Summer reinforcements could ease the pressure, as Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez keeps options open for a potential move.
Alvarez Eyes Future Possibilities
The Argentine forward, linked with Arsenal and Barcelona, expresses satisfaction at Atletico Madrid but refuses to close the door on a transfer. “I don’t know, I don’t know, but maybe yes, maybe no. You never know,” Alvarez stated. “But I’m very happy here. You ask me a question that will end up all over the place, but I’m happy. I’m thinking about the day-to-day, I’m working to improve, to give my best here. I never said anything bad about the club. I’m very grateful; the people have shown me affection.”
Premier League Action Resumes
Arsenal faces Everton at the Emirates Stadium, while rivals Manchester City travel to West Ham in London this weekend after midweek European fixtures.
Norgaard Steps Up at Center-Back
Injuries in defense force Arsenal to adapt, with new signing Christian Norgaard from Brentford shifting deeper. The Danish midfielder started at center-back against Club Brugge in the Champions League last December. He embraces the role, prompting Denmark national team manager Brian Riemer to consider it permanently.
“It actually suits me very well,” Norgaard told Viaplay. “As a defender, you have a lot of the game in front of you. In the long run, it could be a good and suitable position for me. It’s nice to have a phase where I try it out.”
Norgaard and Mikel Arteta discussed the positional switch with Riemer. “It’s always nice when time is set aside for something like this,” the 32-year-old added. “We were just discussing this potential opportunity for me to play center-back. It was great that Brian could hear what thoughts and challenges Arsenal have had.”
