Kenneth Walker III agreed to terms with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday, and the football world is still processing it. The 2026 Super Bowl MVP’s three-year, $45 million deal sparked plenty of debate about who won free agency. An NFL analyst made her position clear.

Sean Payton’s daughter, Meghan Payton Anderson, uploaded a video on X on Wednesday. She ranked the five most impactful moves of the free agency period, with Walker’s landing spot at the top of her list.

“Kenneth Walker to the Chiefs is by far the biggest move,” Anderson said. “The Chiefs’ run game in 2025 was terrible. They ranked near the bottom in rushing efficiency. Now they get one of the best explosive running backs. (They) can finally bring balance to this offense, (and) create massive big plays.”

Walker rushed for 161 yards in Seattle’s 29-13 Super Bowl win over New England in February. He also posted 313 rushing yards and four touchdowns in three playoff games. Kansas City ranked eighth-worst in the league in rushing last season.

Kansas City had a disappointing 2025 season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Patrick Mahomes is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in December. The offense leaned heavily on him as a rusher, recording 422 rushing yards, while Kareem Hunt and an injured Isiah Pacheco struggled on the ground.

NFL analyst Meghan Payton Anderson stressed on Tuesday that Kenneth Walker III is a huge addition to the Chiefs.

“A team that won just six games last year, this is a huge boost,” Anderson said.

His $14.35 million base salary is the highest ever paid to a free agent running back. Travis Kelce also confirmed his return for a 14th season on Tuesday. For a franchise used to winning, its offseason movement signaled that Kansas City is reloading rather than rebuilding.
