Lara Anton, a spokesperson for DSHS, informed ABC Information in a press release that camps are required to develop their very own emergency plans, that are then assessed by the state for adherence to the Texas Administrative Code.

“Camps are answerable for growing their very own emergency plan,” Anton stated. “The plans ought to embrace catastrophe, critical accident, epidemic, or fatality. The main points of Camp Mystic’s emergency plans weren’t included within the information launched by the state. DSHS launched the July 2 inspection report together with 5 years of stories of the youth camp.

The inspection report, which confirmed the youth camp complied with numerous rules, concluded “there is no such thing as a deficiency/violation cited or famous inside the scope of this inspection/go to.”

The youth camp had 557 campers and 108 staffers between its Guadalupe and Cypress Lake areas on the time of the inspection.
