Honor’s Robot Phone and New Devices

Honor unveils its Robot Phone, featuring a camera on a 4-degrees-of-freedom gimbal that retracts into the back panel. The gimbal acts like a robotic head, bobbing to music, nodding, and gesturing during demos. It packs a 200-megapixel primary sensor with three-axis stabilization, Super Steady Video, and AI Object Tracking. Launch details point to a release later this year.

The Honor Robot makes a dramatic entrance with backflips and dances, designed for industrial and home use.

Honor also launches the Magic V6 foldable smartphone, the thinnest in its class at 8.75mm folded and 4.0mm unfolded in white (9mm/4.1mm for other colors). Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it offers 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, dual 50-megapixel cameras, 64-megapixel telephoto, and 20-megapixel selfie lenses. Battery capacities reach 6660mAh internationally or over 7000mAh in China. Pricing and availability remain unannounced.

The MagicPad 4 claims the title of thinnest Android tablet at 4.8mm (excluding camera bump), with a 12.3-inch 165Hz OLED display, 450g weight, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, up to 16GB RAM/512GB storage, 13MP rear/9MP front cameras, eight speakers for spatial audio, 10100mAh battery, and 66W charging. It runs MagicOS 10.

Xiaomi and Leica Collaborations

Xiaomi announces the global rollout of the 17 Ultra smartphone, first launched in China last December. This Leica-partnered device features a 1-inch 50-megapixel main sensor (f/1.67), 200-megapixel 1/1.4-inch telephoto, 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a manual zoom ring. The 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED display hits 3500 nits brightness, paired with a 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It starts at £1,299 ($1,750 equivalent).

Leica introduces the Leitzphone by Xiaomi, mirroring the 17 Ultra’s 1-inch sensor and mechanical zoom ring. It includes a simplified Leica camera interface, monochrome mode, and filters, with identical Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 6.9-inch display. Priced at €1,999 ($2,362 equivalent).

Xiaomi reveals the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets, both 5.75mm thick, 485g, and with 9200mAh batteries. The Pro uses Snapdragon 8 Elite; the base model has Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Other launches include the 6mm-thick UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W in orange, silver, or charcoal gray, and the Xiaomi Tag Bluetooth tracker compatible with Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, featuring a built-in keyring loop.

Tecno’s Modular Smartphone Concept

Tecno presents a modular concept phone as thin as 4.9mm in base form. It supports 10 magnetic modules via Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, including camera lenses, gaming attachments, and power banks.
