Ariana Grande has been the bell of the ball since making her debut as Glinda in 2024’s Wicked — but there’s one awards show she won’t be attending: the SAG-AFTRA’s 2026 Actor Awards.

The Actor Awards, formally known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), are taking place on Sunday, March 1, at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. (Kristen Bell serves as the host for the third time.)

Grande, however, is reportedly going to miss the event despite being nominated for 2025’s Wicked: For Good. (The two-part box office hit is based on the Broadway musical Wicked, which opened in October 2003.)

The Wicked cast, including Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, imbued the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards with their signature magic. Erivo, 38, Grande, 31, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode and Bowen Yang were among the stars of the musical film in attendance for the Sunday, February 23, event at the Shrine Auditorium […]

Why Is Ariana Grande Missing the 2026 Actors Awards?

Us Weekly has reached out to Grande’s rep for comment.

Has Ariana Grande Addressed Skipping the Actor Awards?

Ariana Grande has not publicly commented on her alleged absence from the upcoming awards show.

However, she did announce in August 2025 that she will be going back on the road later this year for her The Eternal Sunshine Tour.

“See you next year ♡ 🧸,” she captioned an Instagram post with her tour dates outlined, starting with Oakland, California, in June and ending her U.S. run in Chicago in August. Grande also has five shows in London scheduled for August. (Grande last toured in 2019 for her Sweetener World Tour.)

Grande previously attended the 2026 Golden Globe Awards in January, having been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. She lost to Teyana Taylor for her role in One Battle After Another.

What Was Ariana Grande Nominated for at the 2026 Actor Awards?

Actress Ariana Grande is nominated at the 2026 Actors Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Wicked: For Good. She was previously nominated for the same category last year at the 2025 SAG Awards for Wicked but lost to Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez.

Will Ariana Grande’s ‘Wicked: For Good’ Costars Be at the Actor Awards?

It is unknown if anyone from Wicked: For Good will be at the March 1 ceremony as Ariana Grande is the only star nominated for a 2026 Actors Award. While her colead Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, was nominated in 2025, she didn’t get a nod.

The cast was also snubbed in 2026’s Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture after earning a nomination one year prior.

Will Ariana Grande Be at the 2026 Oscars?

Unlike the 2026 Actors Awards, Ariana Grande was not nominated for a 2026 Academy Award. The movie-focused awards show airs on Sunday, March 15, and despite 2024’s Wicked being nominated for 10 awards at the 2025 Oscars, the sequel was completely shut out.

Michelle Yeoh, who plays Madame Morrible in the films, broke her silence over Wicked: For Good being overlooked earlier this month.

“I’m not surprised. I am in shock!” the actress, 63, said in an interview with Variety published February 12. “I really am.”

Yeoh explained, “I think sometimes the problem is that people think, ‘Oh, you already got so much with the first one, let other people have a chance.’ But then it feels like, ‘No, come on!’ It’s such a beautiful, well-made movie.”

She pointed out that a variety of people deserved to be celebrated for their work on the second film. “Paul [Tazewell] for costume design, hair and makeup. If you compare it [with contenders this year] it should be there,” Yeoh said. “It’s not the replica of the first one. It’s more elaborate and there are many more new destinations in Wicked: For Good. So I was truly, truly very disappointed.”

Grande, for her part, has not publicly commented on the Oscars shutout, or whether she’ll be on hand for the annual awards ceremony.
