A top AEW star has suddenly been pulled out from a match mid-way due to seemingly sustaining an injury. They were taken backstage, which caused some changes to the match finish.

Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford (aka Megabad) have been one of the quickest-rising women’s tag teams on the roster. A few months ago, they were supposed to compete together in the tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team titles, but unfortunately, Ford sustained an injury. Marina Shafir filled in for her.

Once The Bad Girl returned from injury, she and the Megasus went back to going after the women’s tag team titles. They have challenged the Babes of Wrath on multiple occasions, and looked to be the biggest threats to their title reign. Just moments ago on AEW Dynamite, the two duos had another title match with Megabad being accompanied by Lena Kross.

It was a great match from the four women, but interestingly, Lena Kross suddenly came in and attacked Willow Nightingale with the title belt, resulting in a disqualification. This was abrupt, and the fans in attendance were clearly unsatisfied with this.

Penelope Ford was nowhere to be seen during this moment, and some fans who were watching live shared how she was being attended to by the medical team and helped backstage. She was in tears as she seemingly sustained another injury. It seems that AEW had to pivot and instead called for a disqualification angle.

There are no official reports on the situation and her status, but before she was sidelined, she pulled off a Moonsault dive to the outside. It seems like this very spot was where she injured herself. It is also unclear what the affected part is and how severe the injury is.

We at Sportskeeda hope that the injury is not severe and that she will have a smooth recovery.
