A new WWE champion was crowned in a massive upset on a recent show. The star debuted in the Stamford-based promotion only five weeks ago. The name in question is NXT star Elio LeFluer.

On last week’s NXT, Elio LeFluer locked horns with Eli Knight in the finals of the Speed Tournament to determine the challenger for Jasper Troy’s Speed Championship. However, neither of the two stars could win the bout under the three-minute timer.

After the match, Interim NXT General Manager Robert Stone came out to announce that, after showcasing an incredible display of action inside the ring, the two stars earned an opportunity to face Troy in a Triple Threat Match for the Speed title. Stone added that for the first time in the history of this tournament, the stars will receive seven minutes to finish the match.

Tonight on WWE NXT, all three men put on an amazing performance inside the ring and for the most part, it was a back and forth affiair. However, in the last stages of the match, Elio LeFluer outsmarted his opponents. After Eli Knight hit Jasper Troy with a moonsault, LeFluer immediately went in for the pin on Troy and won the match before Knight could do anything.

Check out the finish of the match in the post below:

Elio LeFluer debuted in NXT on January 20, 2026. After only five weeks, he has become the WWE Speed Champion. It remains to be seen what Shawn Michaels has planned for the star’s future.
