Josh Widdicombe, 42, posed in the back of a car to mimic the image of the former Duke of York departing Aylsham police station in Norfolk shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The chat show hosts shared the post on Instagram with the caption: “Josh and Alex arriving into studio for a busy day. Pose look familiar?”

Fans flooded the comments with praise, including “This is brilliant,” “Superb,” and “Nearly p***** myself laughing,” alongside hundreds of laughing emojis.

Birthday Arrest Sparks Memes

Memes surrounding Andrew’s arrest on his 66th birthday have exploded across social media, garnering tens of thousands of likes and shares.

One X post juxtaposes a grinning photo of Andrew next to a straight-faced version, captioned: “Prince Andrew before and after he realised the Birthday stripper was a real policewoman.”

Another features two female officers peering through a house door, labeled: “No, Mr Mountbatten – we’re not stripper-grams.”

An AI-generated image depicts Andrew in jail scrubs holding a tiny cupcake with a candle inside a prison cell, with “Happy Birthday” scrawled on the walls.

A TikTok clip reads: “Prince Andrew after realising it’s the actual police at his door and not a stripper on his birthday.”

Arrest Details and Epstein Links

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor marks the first senior royal in modern history to face arrest. Authorities held him for about 11 hours on suspicion of misconduct in public office, stemming from allegations he shared sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as the UK’s trade envoy.

Officers conducted searches at his Norfolk home, and Thames Valley Police released him under investigation. He exited without charge, though the probe continues.

Andrew relinquished his royal titles and vacated Royal Lodge in Windsor last October amid renewed scrutiny over Epstein ties. Searches at Royal Lodge persist.

Prosecutors allege he passed confidential details to Epstein, an offense punishable by up to life imprisonment.

Calls to Remove from Succession

Pressure mounts for Andrew to exit the line of succession voluntarily. He currently ranks eighth.

A recent YouGov poll post-arrest shows 82% of Britons favor his removal, with only 6% opposing.

Downing Street faces demands to invoke a historic Act of Parliament if he refuses.

Senior Tory MP Andrew Bowie stated it would be “the decent thing” for Andrew to step aside. “Of course, if he’s found guilty of this, I think Parliament would be well within its rights to act to remove him from the line of succession,” Bowie remarked.

“But, let’s remember, he’s not been found guilty of anything just yet – he has yet to be charged with anything,” he added in a GB News interview. “So we have to let the police investigation run its course.”
