An 18-year-old man remains in custody following the arrest in connection with a violent sexual assault on a teenage girl in a Romford park.

Details of the Incident

The attack occurred at Cottons Park near Marks Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Officers responded quickly to the scene, where they met the victim, a woman in her late teens. She received immediate attention and was transported to a hospital, where specialist officers continue to provide support.

A forensic tent stands at the location as investigators conduct further examinations.

Police and Medical Response

The suspect and victim knew each other, and authorities confirm no additional suspects are being sought. Patrols have increased in the surrounding area to enhance public safety.

A politan Police spokesperson stated: “A cordon remains in place in Cottons Park, Romford, while officers carry out further enquiries. We appreciate the concern this incident causes but reassure the public that a person is in custody and patrols have been boosted locally.”

The London Ambulance Service added: “Crews received a call at 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, regarding an incident on Recreation Avenue in Romford. An ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast-response car attended the scene. The woman received treatment on-site and was transported to the hospital as a priority patient.”
