Red Bull star Max Verstappen came out during the preseason F1 test in Bahrain and slammed the new generation of cars. The Dutchman took to Instagram and liked a meme about him trashing the 2026 cars, which sent the F1 fans into a frenzy.
FIA overhauled the regulations going into the 2026 season with a brand new chassis and power unit. The power unit dependency increased on the electrical system as part of the new regulations, which have made energy management a crucial part of the driver’s responsibility.
Max Verstappen came out on Day 2 of the preseason F1 test in Bahrain and slammed the new generation cars, highlighting the complexity with battery management, not being able to drive flat out, and calling the 2026 cars Formula E on steroids.
“Not a lot of fun, to be honest. I would say the right word is management. As a driver, the feeling is not very Formula 1-like. It feels a bit more like Formula E on steroids,” said Max Verstappen
“As a pure driver, I enjoy driving flat out. And at the moment, you cannot drive like that. There’s a lot going on. A lot of what you do as a driver, in terms of inputs, has a massive effect on the energy side of things. For me, that’s just not Formula 1,” added the Dutchman
An account on Instagram uploaded a meme about Max Verstappen not liking a single thing about the new regulations, and Red Bull liked the comment. The Dutchman, liking the post, gathered fans’ reaction, as they took tothe social media platform X and wrote,
“I love whatever’s wrong with him.”
Another commented, “thats why i like him”
“I love him lmaaao,” wrote another
Some fans noticed how Max Verstappen’s new teammate, Isack Hadjar, also liked the meme as they commented,
“Isack liking this too😭😭”
Another wrote, “love how unserious he is”
“I just know he was swiping past each one giggling uncontrollably,” mentioned a user on X
Brad Keselowski invites Max Verstappen to join NASCAR
RFK star Brad Keselowski took to the social media platform X and reacted to Max Verstappen’s comments about being at a stage in his career where he’s considering different motorsport disciplines. The Dutchman at the Bahrain F1 test said,
“A winning car for me, that doesn’t matter. It needs to be fun to drive as well. I think at this stage of my career. I mean, I am of course also exploring other things outside of Formula 1 to have fun at, but I know that we’re stuck with this regulation for quite a while. So, yeah, let’s see.”
Brad Keselowski reacted to the same and welcomed Verstappen to NASCAR, suggesting a Ford Racing seat was available for the Dutchman.
“We have a @FordRacing cup car ready to go. Feel free to DM when you’re ready Max,” read Keselowski’s comments
The RFK star met with a skiing accident during the winter break and broke his leg, requiring surgery. Following an eight-week recovery, Keselowski was able to return in time for the Daytona 500 after missing the Clash at Bowman Gray
