Sheffield Wednesday vs Millwall head-to-head stats and key numbersSheffield Wednesday vs Millwall predictionSheffield Wednesday vs Millwall betting tips

Sheffield Wednesday lock horns with Millwall on Saturday in the 32nd round of games in the Championship. The two sides are perched in opposite halves of the points table.

Henrik Pedersen’s Sheffield are fresh off a 4-0 defeat at Swansea City at the weekend. Following Goncalo Franco’s first-half opener, the Swans struck thrice without reply after the break, with Zan Vipotnik starring with a brace.

Thanks for the submission!

Following a ninth straight defeat across competitions, the Owls remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the standings, with a negative seven points from 31 matches, winning just once all season.

Meanwhile, Alex Neil’s Millwall are coming off a 2-0 win at promoted Wrexham last week. Following a goalless first half, Max Cleworth’s own goal just before the hour mark broke the deadlock before Josh Cobum made the points safe five minutes from time.

Following a third straight unbeaten outing – winning two – the Lions remain fifth in the points table, with 53 points from 31 matches, winning 15.

On that note, here’s a look at the head-to-head stats and key numbers, match prediction, and betting tips for the Sheffield-Millwall Championship clash at Hillsborough:

Sheffield Wednesday vs Millwall head-to-head stats and key numbers

  • In 56 meetings across competitions, Sheffield lead Millwall 20-19 but lost the reverse fixture 1-0 away in November.
  • The Owls have won once in their last 10 games with the Lions – all in the Championship – losing five.
  • Sheffield remain winless at home in the league this season, losing 12 of 16 games, including the last four.
  • Millwall have two wins and as many losses in their last five road outings across competitions.
  • Form guide (last five games across competitions, most recent result first): Sheffield: L-L-L-L-L; Millwalll: W-D-W-L-W

Sheffield Wednesday vs Millwall prediction

The two sides have had markedly contrasting campaigns. While Sheffield are on the cusp of relegation – having not won in the league since September – Millwall are in the play-off places.

In terms of head-to-head, the Owls have a slender advantage, but the Lions have dominated recent meetings. Pedersen’s side haven’t won at home all season and haven’t scored in their last 10 outings across competitions.

On current form, there’s going to be only one winner, so expect the Lions to coast to a comfortable victory.

Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Millwall

Sheffield Wednesday vs Millwall betting tips

Tip-1: Millwall to win

Tip-2: Sheffield to score: No (They haven’t in their last five home games across competitions.)

Tip-3: Over 1.5 goals (Five of their last six meetings have had at least two goals.)
