Winnipeg Police Launch Probe into Fatal West End House Fire

A devastating fire erupted in a crowded residence on the 300 block of Agnes Street in Winnipeg’s west end just before 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Emergency Response and Casualties

First responders evaluated seven individuals at the scene, transporting five to local hospitals for treatment. Tragically, an 18-year-old and a 48-year-old woman later died from their injuries by Sunday. The remaining three victims are reported to be in stable condition.

Investigation Underway

Due to the fatalities, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit has assumed control of the probe. Investigators continue to examine the site as of Monday, working to establish the fire’s origin. The property has become a makeshift memorial amid the ongoing inquiry.
