France’s parliament on Monday permitted the return of the Djidji Ayokwe, a prized drum, to Ivory Coast, greater than a century after it was taken from the Ebrie tribe by French troops in 1916. The big drum, as soon as used to ship warnings and messages, was amongst 148 cultural objects requested for repatriation by Ivory Coast again in 2018.
