A chaotic brawl unfolded outside a Melbourne strip club when one man accidentally knocked out his friend with a thrown chair. Surveillance and bystander videos captured the intense altercation on King Street in the city center.
Chaotic Scenes Outside Bar 20
The incident occurred late Friday night, January 30, near Bar 20. Two men, who had been inside the venue, were ejected by security around 9 a.m. Tensions escalated quickly outside, leading to physical confrontations on the street.
Security personnel pushed one of the men to the ground amid the scuffles. In the heat of the moment, one ejected individual seized a nearby chair and hurled it toward the club’s entrance, apparently aiming at the guards. Instead, the chair struck the back of his companion’s head, causing him to collapse instantly.
Attempt to Grab Another Chair
Separate footage shows another participant darting into an adjacent restaurant to grab a wooden chair. A staff member intervened, attempting to prevent the theft. The staffer recounted the encounter: “He just suddenly asked, can I borrow a chair? I tried to stop him, saying it’s our best chair, you can’t take it.”
Undeterred, the man proceeded to launch the chair back toward the strip club, where his friend remained entangled with security. The impact left the victim sprawled on the pavement, while a guard reacted by laughing and pointing at the scene. The thrower appeared stunned, clutching his head in disbelief.
Aftermath and Injuries
Authorities have not released details on any injuries sustained in the brawl. The videos highlight the rapid escalation from a simple ejection to outright violence, underscoring the dangers of such public disputes.
