Investigation Uncovers Bogus Business

The probe began in July 2024 after initial complaints surfaced about the company. Investigators determined that A&E Contractors lacked any valid business operations, physical location, or official corporate registration. Instead, it appears to have been a front for scamming individuals seeking home improvement services.

Arrests and Specific Charges

Timothy Carter, 66, who had been sought since July 2025, is now in custody. Officials charged him with uttering threats, assault, assault with a weapon, and two counts of fraud exceeding $5,000. In a related development, 55-year-old Marco Maggisano from Vaughan also faces charges, including fraud over $5,000, possession of proceeds of crime, and money laundering from criminal activities within Canada.

Potential for More Victims

Investigators believe additional individuals may have been affected by the scheme. Anyone with information or who suspects they were targeted is encouraged to contact authorities at 905-453-2121, extension 2133, to assist in the ongoing case.
