A dedicated sheep farmer in the Yorkshire Dales balances her rural life with an unconventional side career as a cam model and online personality. Known as the Penyghent Shepherdess, the 29-year-old tends to her flock by day and engages a growing online audience by night, carving out a distinctive ‘sexy farmer’ persona.
From Nervous Beginnings to Confident Performances
The shepherdess recalls her initial foray into online modeling with apprehension. She shares, ‘I was really nervous on my first day on camera. I was shy and wouldn’t even have my mic on to begin with, but as the night went on, I became more and more confident. Before I knew it, I was chatting to guys, they were admiring my boots and cowgirl hat.’
Her content quickly gains traction, drawing followers eager for authentic farming-themed visuals. She notes, ‘I’ve had so many new followers and messages from people. They’ve been asking for more of my amazing farming content—from rolling in straw to modelling on saddles; people are also really into wellies and boots!’
A Self-Made Path in Agriculture
Originally a veterinary nurse assistant, the farmer discovered her passion for livestock after leaving a challenging personal situation. She explains how it all started: ‘I used to be a veterinary nurse assistant and really enjoyed the craic with the farmers—they’ve got great banter. It was really fun and entertaining, I loved the animal side of it there. Then I got my daughter some pet lambs for her birthday and it just grew and grew and grew. My parents were never farmers, so I’m a first-generation one.’
Today, she manages a diverse group of animals, including Valais and Swaledale sheep, mules, and horses. She adds, ‘We’ve got four horses and, at the farm I live on, they have cows as well. I also used to have some pigs, which I adored.’ This hands-on experience informs her unique online presence, setting her apart in a crowded digital space.
Embracing a Distinctive Niche
Success stems from her authentic approach, avoiding mainstream stereotypes. She emphasizes, ‘I don’t have blonde hair or big fake boobs. There are so many gorgeous girls, and I have tiny boobs—so I want to keep my niche as a farmer. When I did my first shift, I had some black lingerie on, but I had my cowgirl hat and some long black boots. A lot of the requests were to do with boots, the hat, feet—which I wasn’t expecting so much of!’
Beyond personal fulfillment, she sees her work bridging gaps in the farming community. The sector often feels isolating, she observes: ‘It can be a very lonely place, so knowing they can log on and chat to me or send me a DM is really nice. It’s a very isolated sector, so I think there’s a bit of a gap in the market where I can bring my niche to them. I think I had about four or five gentlemen who said, ‘Let me know when you’re back on.’ They seemed really happy to speak to me again. And I think men are really supportive, really good in that way—it’s usually women who make negative judgments; but I don’t care—I’m doing me.’
Future Plans and Lasting Appeal
Enthusiastic about merging her worlds, the Penyghent Shepherdess envisions expanding her content. She concludes, ‘I really love blending the two together. Who knew I could dress up in lingerie but still put on a cowgirl boot? I really want to push it, like riding on my saddle on cam. This raunchy side of me is only just getting started—I reckon I could do this ’til the cows come home.’
