Diggs played just 33 defensive snaps between his two games with the Packers, with 32 of those snaps coming in their regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings.
With his release, Diggs will be subject to waivers. If he’s claimed, Diggs’ season would essentially be over, as the waiver assignment wouldn’t take place until after the Super Bowl. But if he goes unclaimed, Diggs would become a free agent and would be able to play with any of the remaining teams.
Diggs was a two-time Pro Bowler with the Cowboys before getting released in December.
Seattle will have to rely on Kenneth Walker at running back for the rest of the postseason. Charbonnet will undergo season-ending knee surgery, head coach Mike Macdonald said on Jan. 19. Charbonnet tore his ACL in the Seahawks’ divisional round win over the San Francisco 49ers, ESPN later reported.
