New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Democratic socialist New York Metropolis Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned chants of “we help Hamas” after demonstrators have been filmed chanting the phrase throughout a protest in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood in Queens.

The protest featured pro-Hamas demonstrators chanting in unison whereas holding Palestinian flags.

Mamdani addressed the chants later that day, advocating for public security whereas defending the constitutional proper to protest.
