President Donald Trump endorsed Nassau County Government Bruce Blakeman for governor of New York on Saturday, throwing his assist behind the Lengthy Island Republican in the future after Rep. Elise Stefanik withdrew from the race.

The endorsement follows Fox Information Digital’s unique reporting that Stefanik’s shock choice to not run was pushed partly by considerations over Trump’s lack of a transparent dedication to backing her within the New York governor’s race, in accordance with sources.

Blakeman welcomed Trump’s endorsement, aligning himself carefully with the president’s coverage agenda.

The endorsement follows Stefanik’s announcement Friday that she wouldn’t enter the race, a choice that instantly reshaped the gubernatorial taking part in subject.
