Yukon RCMP urges the public to avoid touching suspicious packages found outdoors after an off-duty officer discovered four ounces of suspected crack cocaine in woods near Whitehorse on February 13.
Unusual Woods Discovery
The officer encountered the drugs during a personal outing and promptly handed them over to investigators. Officials emphasize that items linked to drug activities may expose people to hazardous substances, prompting the reminder to leave such finds undisturbed.
Separate Parcel Interception
On the same day, authorities intercepted a package containing one kilogram of cocaine in Whitehorse. They arrested a 40-year-old local woman, who now faces drug trafficking charges. Investigators confirm the two incidents remain unconnected.
