Police Probe Suspicious Deaths in Montreal-Area Residence
Law enforcement authorities have launched a major investigation following the discovery of two deceased individuals in a Brossard residence on Monday. The victims have been identified as a 54-year-old woman and 56-year-old man found with traumatic injuries in a Bienvenue Avenue home.
Police spokesperson Jacqueline Pierre confirmed that officers responded to reports of an armed assault shortly after midnight. First responders confirmed both individuals deceased upon arrival at the single-family dwelling located in this suburban community south of Montreal.
Investigation Underway
A specialized major crimes unit has taken charge of the case, with forensic teams processing evidence at the cordoned-off property throughout the day. Investigators have established a command post at the scene as they work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths.
“While it’s premature to draw definitive conclusions, investigators are examining all possibilities including a potential murder-suicide scenario,” stated Pierre. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the deceased resided at the property.
