Vice President JD Vance delivered remarks on Friday after touchdown in Los Angeles and touring federal regulation enforcement operations.
Vance accused California Gov. Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass of encouraging violent protesters and accused Newsom of “endangering regulation enforcement.”

“Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass, by treating this metropolis as a sanctuary metropolis, have principally stated that it’s open season on federal regulation enforcement,” the vice chairman stated.
“What occurred right here was a tragedy. You had individuals who had been doing the straightforward job of implementing the regulation, they usually had rioters egged on by the governor and the mayor, making it more durable to do their job. That’s disgraceful, and it’s why the president has responded so forcefully,” stated Vance.
“For those who let violent rioters burn nice American cities to the bottom, then in fact, we’re going to ship federal regulation enforcement in,” Vance stated when requested if he was happy with Thursday’s federal appeals court docket ruling.

When requested by a reporter to touch upon Democratic lawmakers getting handcuffed not too long ago, Vance incorrectly referred to Sen. Alex Padilla as “José Padilla.”
“I hoped José Padilla could be right here to ask a query. However, sadly, I assume he determined to not present up as a result of there wasn’t the theater, and that’s all it’s,” Vance stated. “It’s pure political theater. These guys present up. They need to be captured on digital camera doing one thing.”
Padilla was forcibly faraway from Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem’s information convention earlier this month in LA, taken to the bottom and handcuffed by regulation enforcement officers.
