Police have arrested a 33-year-old Hawthorne man in reference to a sequence of on-line threats directed in opposition to TikTok’s Culver Metropolis headquarters.

The Culver Metropolis Police Division mentioned that TikTok workers obtained a menace on social media Friday, prompting safety to evacuate the Bristol Parkway location.

Police traced the menace to Joseph Mayuyo and converged on his Hawthorne residence Saturday, however he made extra threats on-line and declared that he wouldn’t be taken alive, in response to a police information launch.

Disaster negotiators spent 90 minutes speaking to him earlier than he walked outdoors and surrendered, police mentioned. He was booked on a cost of creating legal threats.

It was not clear from the discharge whether or not Mayuyo had any prior connection to the social media firm.
