Thieves seize $2 million in jewellery in Seattle heist that took lower than 2 minutes

Seattle police say smash-and-grab thieves have made off with an estimated $2 million in diamonds, luxurious watches, gold and different gadgets in a daring noon jewellery retailer theft

SEATTLE — Smash-and-grab thieves in Seattle made off with an estimated $2 million in diamonds, luxurious watches, gold and different gadgets in a daring noon jewellery retailer theft that took nearly 90 seconds, police stated Friday.

Video from the West Seattle retailer’s surveillance cameras exhibits 4 masked suspects shattering the locked glass entrance door with hammers after which ransacking six show instances Thursday.

One show held round $750,000 price in Rolex watches, police stated in an announcement, and one other had an emerald necklace valued at $125,000.

A masked suspect threatened staff with bear spray and a Taser, police stated, however nobody was injured.

“We’re fairly shook up as a workers,” Josh Menashe, vp of the family-owned retailer, stated by cellphone Friday. “We’re gonna be closed for some time.”

Menashe stated staff completed cleansing up the damaged glass and have been engaged on a full stock of the losses.

Police stated they responded to the theft however the suspects had already fled in a getaway automotive and eluded a search of the realm.
