Thursday evening, President Trump introduced new tariff charges, and a brand new deadline. For weeks, the administration stated that new, harder tariffs would go into impact August 1 — as an alternative, most nations will not see the brand new charges kick in for a minimum of every week.
In the meantime, new numbers from the Labor Division present job development slowed sharply this spring, as President Trump’s earlier, worldwide tariffs began to chew. Shortly after their launch, Trump stated he was firing the pinnacle of the federal government company that produced that report.
White Home correspondent Danielle Kurtzleben and financial correspondent Scott Horsley focus on the implications of Trump’s tariffs to this point and going ahead.
